Goodness in a Loaf of Bread

I visited SCRATCHbread today, at their “only open certain hours until they sell out” location in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Seriously, I wish I had a tape recorder. After talking with Artisan Food vendors, one begins to understand how deep their passion runs for the food. And, this passion really shows in their products.

I tried their shortbread. Imagine typical dry shortbread, enlarge it to 10 times its normal size, slightly underbake it, and turn the flavor up to 11.

I bought a Parma Loaf. The top of the bread is covered in cracked fennel seeds and black pepper and some crunchy salt, and has parmigiano reggiano in the bottom of the loaf. And I made a Sandwich with it. Every Bite of this sandwich is a new adventure in taste. If you ever thought bread was boring, you need to get some of this.

Their location is in Bed-Stuy, and has limited hours, so please check out their Twitter and Website before heading over.
